Ruth Michael Ginsberg
Ruth (Maggie Widdoes) is the 45-year-old owner of a chain of dog beauty parlors down the coast of central Connecticut (you know, along the Connecticut River). As a young mother, she absconded one summer to an adult summer camp on Candlewood Lake where she met Tonya Plank, where they instantly connected over hearing the voice of a very horny dead person. Her children and ex-husband have been incredibly ungrateful to her, and yes, she is the heir to the Michael's Craft Store empire, and no, she'd rather not talk about it.
Whitney Houston (Whit) is a dog that Ruth and Tonya are 99 percent sure is the reincarnated spirit of the singer Whitney Houston. Tonya and Ruth have joint custody of her and are trying to give her a less tumultuous life than her last one.
A farmer's daughter, Tonya (Jaime Lutz) ran away from home at the age of 15 and settled in the big city: Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was soon pulling cons and turning tricks (though she never gave blowies, because she DIDN'T WANT TO FALL IN LOVE), struggling to survive with her high school freshman education. She reached out to a progressive organization that helped impoverished women, and though they didn't give her money or food or a place to live, or like a job, or anything like that, they did give her a scholarship to an adult summer camp. The rest, my friends, is fucking history.
Sophie Yalkezian (Producer) is a podcast producer, comedian and writer. She has a degree in journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto - her hometown - and 5 years of doing improv in New York which is basically another college degree. You can catch her performing around the city and country with her indie team Future Wives and on UCB's Lloyd Night with Top Heavy.
